Thanksgiving!!

So now that it is Monday and we are back at school I’m so sad that we aren’t on vacation anymore! I don’t want to go back to school   :(. Now i have a first aid test, a Medical Terminology test, and an Anatomy exam (ahhh!) to worry about. Not to mention I should be studying right now but I’m not, because it is is hard to get back into the the swing of things! I just want to be lazy.

Before we left for thanksgiving I took some pictures of our leaky ceiling. Pretty lame, I thought that it was going to be fixed by the time we got back from break, but we got home and everything was still there, waiting to be fixed :(

Hans also bought me some cute flowers that matched our fall decorations so I put them together on the table :)

For thanksgiving we went to California! I couldn’t believe that it was actually warm there, it was so nice! I didn’t even need to wear a jacket. Being with family is so fun, and being on vacation from school is even better :) Sadly, we still had homework to do, only some of it got done (at least in my case) and I am feeling the pain of my poor decisions now.

For Saturday, and Sunday we stayed at Jarom and Rachel’s house in Utah, which was a lot of fun! We love spending time with them and their family. On Monday we drove the rest of the way to California. When we got there dinner was ready, and we found that Anna had cleaned her room especially for us :) I got to meet Russell for the first time (he is the brother just younger than Hans, who got back from his mission the month after we got married!). Now I just have one more sibling left to meet, Conrad (who is currently on his mission in Oklahoma).

The rest of the week we just hung around the house, went shopping, attempted to do homework, watched movies, played games, and most importantly… spent time with family! It was fun for me to go outside and pick pomegranates and oranges and eat them fresh off the tree right there at their house! Thursday was Thanksgiving (if you didn't already know). In the morning we went to play soccer (a tradition in their family), then we came home and got ready to eat! The food was especially delicious, yum!

MMMM…. Pie!!

For almost the rest of the night, everyone was eating pie, and playing or watching a game where you throw bean bags at a board and try to get it in the hole, it was actually pretty fun! Then we all went to play kickball which was so fun! Then the girls rented a movie to watch while the guys played video games.

So, my family decided to go to Disneyland for Thanksgiving because they got a great deal on tickets. So my family went  to have fun in California with one of our family friends. I called my dad earlier in the week and i was joking around and I told him we would come with them to Disneyland if they bought us tickets, and he said he would! They bought us both a 1 day pass for Friday and were so excited! So we got up early on Friday morning and drove 3 hours to get there. Disneyland was so much fun that day … we wish we could’ve stayed longer :( but we got up early on Saturday and drove all the way back to Rexburg… 14 hours.. a very long drive.

Crazy Week!

Lately things have been a little hectic! Hans found an intership, but they asked him if he could work part time for now, so he has been busy with work and school. I have gotten my classes for next semester except one. I want to be finished with all the classes i have to take for medical assisting by the end of next spring. I wasn't able to register for classes until later because i have less credits than other people so i have to wait. The class I need to get is called Medical Assisting Billing and Coding, and the reason i have to take it next semester is becauseit is at the same time as the 2nd clinical which i will be taking in the spring. so i have to take it next semester with the 1st clinical. There were only 13 spots for the class and they all got taken before i could register. Before all of that i had been emailing the teacher and going in to talk to her about it and she never responded. When i finally got to talk to her, she said she had been on vacation! So now, i might have to go one more semester just because of one stinkin class!

Hans is starting to get more used to his job and i think he likes it! He has had to do a little adjusting though with a new schedule. He had his last volleyball game last week, it was an intense game! they lost, sadly but it had everyone hanging on their seats for sure ( I line judged...) I also went with him to a ping pong tournament, which he loved, and he got 3rd place!

We have joined the ward volleyball and bowling teams, and that has been really fun! we have been able to get to know new people and do things together that we like. I am horrible at bowling, but Hans is good and he really likes it, but we both love volleyball so that has been a lot of fun for us.

This past week has been way crazy for us! The last week of school before a break the teachers always give out ridiculous amount of homework and tests. We had to do a presentation in eternal marriage about "keeping the love alive". I had a huge anatomy test over all the muscles this week which was really stressful! I have to know every muscle in the body, where they originate, where they insert, and what they do, and it has been so hard! Hopefully i get a decent grade.....

On sunday we got locked out of our apartment. Hans usually has his keys with him, so i assumed that he did, but apparently when he switched to his church pants, he didn't switch the keys. So we left the apartment and i locked the door and closed it, then after i had already closed it i asked if he had his keys..... haha. We were just going to tithing settlement so I didn't bring my phone with me or really anything else and it was freezing outside! We thought we could get in through the window, but last week i was afraid that someone could break in easily so Hans had locked it, go figure..... so when we got back we went to go talk to the managers and call them, but they weren't there.

Hans had hometeaching at 4 and i had visiting teaching, but i didn't have my phone. Jared (Hans' companion) came and tried to credit card our door, but that didn't work. since i didn't have my phone, we tried to figure out a meeting place. I went visiting teaching but the girls weren't there so i sat and talked with my companion for a while and then Hans came. We were supposed to have someone over for dinner, but we had to tell them that we couldn't anymore, so we went to their apartment and stayed there for a while and then we finally got a hold of the managers, and we had to pay 10 dollars to get into our apartment.... LAME! But everything ended up being ok, and we still has people over for dinner, phew.

The next day we went out to our car to go play volleyball for FHE and to our great suprise... our car wouldn't start! So we walked and went to go play and called one of our friends to look at the car. On tuesday i was sitting in our living room/family room and i heard a drip! guess what??! our ceiling was (is) leaking! i put a cup underneath the drip and told the managers. Long story short, they are still trying to figure out the problem with the leak and part of our ceiling has been ripped off, but our car got fixed! it was just the battery... other than that we are so ready for a vaction! thanksgiving, california, and universal studios... here we come!

Adventures

We had an amazing halloween! It was so fun.

Our apartment complex managers had a Window decorating contest. we were so excited and we got some decorations and then set up our window. Hans was really excited and determined to win. ( We didn't end up winning, but it was still really fun!) Here are some pictures:
On Halloween we invited over three couples to have a party. We originally were going to have the party in the lounge, but someone signed up for it before us so we had to have it in our little apartment. Luckily, we were all able to fit and everything worked out perfectly. Everyone brought some kind of snack and they were all delicious! We played some games and watched a movie and had a really good time together :) We were Dorothy and the Scarecrow!
Everything is going really well for us, classes are going well. For me, my classes are usually very demanding. my days are packed with study groups, group meetings, class, tests, homework, and don't forget enrichment, visiting teaching, and hanging out with friends! As of right now Hans and i have pretty good grades we both almost have all A s! can you believe that?! To me that is a huge accomplishment. We are taking an Eternal Marriage class together, and it is always really fun for us to go to together, we even had to memorize the Proclamation to the Family and then come to class and write it all down! He got a 96 and i got a 97 :)
Hans was able to find a place in Rexburg that he could do his intership at, and get paid! They were very interested in him and asked him if he wanted to work part time before his internship, he told them he would ask his wife and get back to them, and of course i said yes! His volleyball team is doing really well, but he is hitting the ball way too hard, and his arm has been hurting him a lot, but don't worry it will get better! He has restrung his guitar and has been having fun playing it :)
I have been officially accepted to do the Medical Assisting program here and i am really excited! to be able to finish in two semesters im going to have to take 18 credits next semester and 17 the semester after, so it's going to be rough but i think i can do it! then im going to do my externship (200 hours or 7 weeks in a hospital) in pocatello where Hans will be doing his masters at ISU so it looks like everything will be working out. I have loved being able to meet new people and make new friends, and Hans and i are going to be on the ward volleyball team together , and the ward bowling team, it should be fun!
