The End of our Colorado Weekend

On Saturday I decided to make Cinnamon Rolls… for the first time! I got the recipe from my sister in law Stephanie. The whole process took about 3 hours. I woke up and started making them at 9, and they weren’t all the way done until 12 noon. They tasted really good! but I think there are some things I would do differently the next time I make them. I doubled the recipe… which made for a LOT of Cinnamon Rolls.

There were a total of 3 pans

007

My dad wanted me to take a picture of him eating one :)

008

009

I also went and did some shopping with my mom and grandma….. we didn’t shop too long because we didn’t feel like walking around the whole day.

Hans and I did homework for about 4 hours….. Hans did more than I did. But, it isn’t very fun to be going to school in the summer, and have to do homework when you feel like you should be on vacation. But, we’re in the last stretch!!

We decided to stop by sonic after we had mailed a package for my mom. Skyler works there, and we were hoping to catch him riding around on those roller skates….. and luckily, he delivered to our car! the only thing he said to us was “oh, so you’re the crazy people who ordered the ice and drinks, you picked the worst time to come!” of course we had to come during happy hour when the drinks were half off!!

We sure got some good pictures of him though :)

011

That night we played catch phrase with everyone…. it was too funny. very fun.

Today we went to church, and now we are just having  a relaxing Sunday, and we are probably going to play some games tonight!

I can’t believe we are leaving tomorrow! I feel like we just got here. I think mostly I’m just dreading the drive we have to make tomorrow. 10 hours! I hate driving!! dreading the drive and being sad about leaving, leave me with not very good emotions. I love it when we visit family, but leaving is the worst part. when it comes to leaving and how I feel when we have to leave sometimes, i would have rather not come and not had to feel this way! We all know, that is not the case, It is much better to go and see family. It’s never fun to leave I guess.

I just want to say that if you live close to family, be GRATEFUL for it!  you may not realize how difficult it is to have to drive 10-16 hours, or fly just to be able to see your mom and dad, brothers and sisters, and other family. It would be so much easier, and less stressful to live close to them.

It has been a great trip though! and we have enjoyed every minute of it!

Graduation, Five Guys, and Pikes Peak!

We arrived in Colorado Late Wednesday night, and we were greeted by a very excited family :)

We woke up on Thursday, and started getting ready for graduation. It was an exciting morning for everyone! It has been fun to be back with the brothers who I have always thought were annoying to some degree, But I have learned to love and appreciate their little quirks. Skyler is always Hugging me for longer than necessary, and joking around with his squeaky little voice. Then Cameron is always looking for some way to tease me. It’s a little different to have brothers that are so much taller than me! Every time we visit my family everyone is so much taller and bigger….I’m afraid Krista is going to start passing me!

So graduation was at 12 noon, but we went early to get good seats, It was at University of Denver. It was a good ceremony, it was kinda long I thought, but there were also over 500 students names to be read, my graduating class was about 185. Here are some pictures:

Krista lost both of her front teeth :)

006

I did her hair that morning :)

They had little Kindergartners come in for part of the ceremony, so cute!

Krista found Skyler’s name on the program

015

he is the boy in the middle of the line of girls

016

I was trying to scream for him and record at the same time… it didn’t work too well..

Pictures with the graduate!

022

Cute family … if I don’t say so myself :)

024

Skyler, hugging me for longer than needed.. haha

029

030

033  Isn’t he cute??

034

After graduation we went to Five Guys…. by request of Skyler. My dad and Skyler love it there.

When we got there I saw that the potatoes they got for the day were from Rexburg Idaho, and I had to take a picture :)

037

My Grandma and Grandpa were with us too! 040

My dad really wanted to make sure that he got on onto our blog, and I LOVE my dad So much :) I’m pretty sure I’m his favorite daughter and he is more proud of me then I am of myself!

041

MMMMmmm Five Guys

047

That night we also went to a graduation party for Skyler and some other graduates.  We got to talk to a lot of people that we hadn’t seen in a long time, and mingle for a lot of the night.

This morning we went to Pikes Peak! It was a LONG drive…….. That is an Understatement. A lot of curves, and very steep.

My dad wanted us to go up there to get The world’s Famous Donuts, and we did, and they were really good!

Although, after taking forever to get up there, we didn’t stay up there for very long. The Elevation is 14,110 ft, so as soon as we got out of the car we felt a little weird. I felt dizzy and lightheaded and I ran out of breath pretty fast, and some of up started getting headaches. But, we were up there long enough to get some pictures, donuts, and souvenirs!

052

054 Ridiculously high! 056

This is after we had come part way down

057

When we were coming back, most of us were really tired, and maybe not feeling so well, we had a picnic about half way down, and then some of us fell asleep….. haha

058

well, we still have the rest of the weekend, we’ll see what comes. It seems like it is always go, go go around here!

More Memories Made!

It has been yet another great week! I think I’m hooked on the baking thing because there have been three different kinds of treats sitting on our counter the whole week. I made peanut butter cookies, and what I think is called Congo bars, and soon I’m going to make Cinnamon rolls… YUM!

In my Psychology class this week, we got to train chickens! well, little chicks, they were cute! even though I’m not all that fond of animals. I like to watch animals, I love zoos and watching planet earth… but touching and having them close to me… yeah not going to work. haha

It was so cool to train them. Our groups chick, we named Fredrick. One of the first things we had to do was get the chick to peck the red dot to get food (grain). after that we had to get him to peck the white dot to make the red dot show, then he would peck the red dot to get food. We had to do some more things, but here is a picture of our group with Fredrick :)

011

wow… I look pretty short

here I am with Fredrick! He liked my ring…. I don’t blame him, I think it is pretty cute too :)

008

Hans and I also did some other fun things this week! We went and played tennis. luckily we have some tennis courts right across the road….. literally. It takes us about 30 seconds to walk there. So we went and played tennis! I have only played tennis I think about 1 or 2 other times in my entire life….. So it was an embarrassing experience. I was embarrassed myself… and I'm pretty sure Hans was embarrassed because I was SO bad, and we were there when they were having tennis practice right next to us, haha! Luckily, I started to get the hang of it, and I’m definitely getting better now. We left after only an hour or less, because I was tired, I’m horribly out of shape! but it was really fun to go play!

We also went to The Craze one of the nights, and played arcade games, and won some tickets. We put it on our tab… now we have almost 500 tickets stocked up there! I told Hans that we can save them up to get the lava lamp they have  because he thinks it is pretty cool. It’s 2,500 tickets or so, and we could probably buy a lava lamp for less then we spend there on tokens to play games, but it is fun and exciting to do it this way :)

On Friday night we actually went out to see a movie! We don’t usually go to movies because we have redbox codes, and get movies for free., and we have a projector. I have no problem sitting at home, junking out on food, and having a movie projected onto our wall, instead of going to a movie in the theater. I mean usually the seats feel dirty to me, there is popcorn on the floor, We can never find the best seats, and we can’t get close enough to really cuddle! BUT it is still fun to get out and go to the movies sometimes, so we did! We saw Alice in Wonderland. It was interesting…. It had great costumes, and makeup and special effects, but I thought it was a little weird. I think Hans thought so too. I know there are a lot that like it, but I think it is a one time see for me!

On Saturday I took a test, and then Hans had a volleyball game! They beat the team they played REALLY bad. it was best 3/5 and the last 2 games they beat the other team about 25 to 10, so I guess it could’ve been worse. After that we went shopping in nice sunny weather, and by the time we got back to our apartment, we look outside and it was snowing really hard! There has been some weird weather here lately.

I went to a girls night on Saturday! We went to a movie and Ice cream. We saw Letters to Juliet which was really cute!

Such fun friends to hang out with!

Poor Hans, had to spend a sad night without me. well, he wasn’t that sad.

yesterday (Sunday), nothing too exciting happened. I went and did Home Teaching  with Hans, because his companion was sick. seems weird for me to go with him, but it’s a common thing in our ward! It was fun to be able to get to know new couples though, and talk with them :)

Party Week!

This past week/weekend has been busy! Hans said that it was too busy… for him. But for me, it was ideal!….. and because I like being somewhat busy, that’s probably why our weekends/weeks turn out the way they do :) This is going to be long, by the way!

Leann’s birthday was on Wednesday, and I talked to her on Thursday, and I told her that I would plan a party for her for Friday.. .. the next day! So I invited a good amount of couples, and we were excited!

On Friday after I finished a test and did some homework, I started working on Cupcakes for Leann’s Birthday! Hans had school, then work, then school, then a volleyball game. gone the whole day! I had to also do the laundry and clean up…. so with everything that had to be done, I wasn’t able to go to his Volleyball game, it was the first one I have missed since we met :(

So we needed to go to the store to get some more snacks for the party, and get dinner (subway!). we were able to do that in about 20 minutes.. wow!…

Anyways The party was really fun, Be ready for a lot of pictures… I made sure I took a lot this weekend!

P5140317

Ever since my birthday.. I had wanted to decorate cupcakes… for some reason they have never turned out as good as the first ones I made.
