Toxic Fumes

Well, we went ( and are still at ) the beach this weekend. We figured it would be nice to see what the beaches are like on the other side of the country… more about that later

Anyway, one thing we have noticed… aside from the fact that there are TONS of people all over, it seems that almost half of the people smoke, and have no regard to anyone around them… it’s really nice :)

Usually what happens, is we will find a good place to sit, and then all of the sudden we will start inhaling smoke, and realize that someone has just seated themselves upwind of us holding a cigarette in their hand.

Well, Hans and I were walking back to our car from the beach today, Hans looked like he was contemplating something and said to me:

“You know what would be a good idea?”

-“what?”

“If you had super nasty farts, then you could go upwind of someone smoking, and just let er’ rip..”

Yeah I wasn’t expecting that at all….

Lets just say that it was one of those, I might pee my pants from laughing so hard kind of moments……

I could not stop thinking about someone actually doing that, and that mental image in my head, is just.. priceless.

Toxic fumes, I'll tell ya.

I Like to Color… Okay??

011

When I picked up the girls I watch from one of their camps this afternoon, this coloring book is what they saw in the back of the car….

The one sitting in the back, picked up the book and said “ oh, is this your sisters?”

I said “ Nope! That’s mine”

She said “oh” and then laughed….

So here I am tonight, with my coloring book and crayons….. 120 crayons?? = very exciting.

How can you not love the Disney princesses ?….

I told Hans that I had been coloring in it today, and thinking about unrealistic fantasies, and how I wondered why we can’t REALLY be a prince and princess?

Ariel is my favorite by the way. In case you were wondering.

Dreams come true guys, dreams come true…..

And now I will go back to dreaming… 21 year olds can like princesses too…. ;)

Harry Potter

I know, I know. Everyone is talking about Harry Potter, I guess I’ll just join the crowd…. I mean, everyone else is doing it!

Lets be honest, Harry Potter is like the “Star Wars” of our time, Well, I think it is a good amount better, but that’s because I was never into the whole “Star Wars” thing. We used to have Star Wars marathons, but now we will be having Harry Potter marathons….

I never read all of the Harry Potter books. So I thought it was very convenient that one of the girls I am Nanning was Just starting to read the 5th Harry Potter book, and She wanted me to read it to her. SO I read a good chunk of it, and the parts she read while she wasn’t with me, she just summed up before I started reading to her again. And now we are on the 6th book. So it’s possible that I will actually end up reading all of the books this summer :)

Anyway, sorry about that little ramble, it’s a little beside the point.

Hans and I had a Harry Potter marathon this weekend ( or at least attempted to watch all of the movies..) And then on Saturday we went with my cousin Alisa and her husband Bill to go see the last Harry Potter movie :)

We went to dinner before..

Great picture :)

003

And we saw the movie in 3D… Hans was so excited about that!

The Secret Unicorn

Hans created a program, and in the program He decided to put a secret button. It could not be seen unless searched for diligently. Hidden until you put your mouse over it.

For a good laugh, he asked me, his dear wife to find it.

I looked for a good 2 minutes before I asked him to find it for me….

haha When I clicked on it, This is what popped up:

Hans proceeded to laugh. He thought it was so funny.

Yes, yes it is.

Oh, I love my husband.

Wicked

We went to Wicked yesterday! All I can say about it is that it was amazing! Make your heart melt kind of a show. You know, the kind that makes you feel every emotion possible. Yes. So good!

We are so grateful that the Westergards let us come along with them, since they had extra tickets! :)

Here are a few pictures

Here are some other pictures….. Sorry if there is an overload of pictures…. My computer is reaching its last bit of life. Sadly. I’ve had it since right before I started school over 3 years ago. Apparently It has a bad “operating system” So says my computer nerd husband ;) . He says it’s a gonner. I’m not sad about it. Rather I’m mad about the timing, because everything expensive has decided to happen now, less than a year before Hans graduates, And when we are on an internship…..

Moving on…

The Last Day

Hans and I told ourselves that today would be the last day that we went into DC to site see. With the exceptions being, If we are going out with friends, and when we do a tour of the Capitol, which we have reserved for a day in August, which will be the same day that we go to the Holocaust Museum. That’s it. We’ll see if that is really what happens. We have finished seeing the majority of the sites, and I know there are still plenty of fun things to do here in Virginia :)

Today we went to the White House! Well, rather, we walked outside the White House and looked through some bars :) Really we just took a quick look, snapped a few pictures, and then we were on our way…. very cool to see for the first time though!

002

003

We also went to the National Archives! Mostly just to be able to see the Declaration of Independence. Sadly pictures were not allowed, so I have nothing to prove that we were there, but we were! It was very cool. All of the documents are VERY faded. It makes them almost impossible to read. Those men were very inspired!

Our last stop was The Library of Congress. It was Hans’ favorite part of the day! The building is just so beautiful!

Hot Hot Hot days here.  I think it would be more bearable if it was less humid. But I think I’ve already said that about 50 times :)

Well, I guess our week doesn’t really start until Tuesday!

A Little Bit of Weekend.

So…. I’m pretty sure that when we get back to Idaho, we will be SO bored! We have gotten used to living here and having so many options available for things to do!

On Friday night we had dinner with our friends Liz and Dru ( and baby Jay too ). Then we went to a fun mini golf place! It’s apparently rated #5 in the nation. I found it online, and I thought it would be fun to try out, and it is fairly close to where we live, so why not?!

We were a little skeptical about it because it was $10 a person, but it was way worth it! And I don’t regret the price we paid :)

They had so many fun props and things inside, and it was very entertaining!

A “wild boar” jumped out at Hans and he was so startled… we were laughing…. hahaha. It’s ok, I got sprayed with water over there too :)

After Mini golf, we went over to the batting cages. Hans and I had never done that before, so it was fun for us!

022

024

028

We also went to McDonalds to get desert :)

029

On Saturday we decided to go to the National Zoo. We decided to take the metro there, and in the end the trip ended up not being worth it, because there was construction going on in two different places. With shuttles, it took us about 2 hours to get there and 2 hours to get back. Not to mention the fact that we had to walk a long way from the metro to get to the Zoo, in the heat…..

We have just had bad luck lately trying to get into DC. Hopefully it gets better…..

On a positive note though, the Zoo was pretty cool. It is a nice Zoo, especially when the admission is free :)

I loved the porcupine! I had never seen one before, and I didn’t imagine it looking this way…. Loved it.

The tortoise was also one of my favorites. I told Hans I wanted to get one. Out of all pets, I think this is one I could handle. I love turtles! call me crazy, but I really do want one. This coming from the girl who really doesn’t like pets….

We also got to try out kinect this weekend. It is really fun! But I still think I prefer the Wii better.

It was a great weekend! But they always go way too fast. I have to go back to working this week, so we both have another full week of work, but we get to see Wicked on Wednesday!!! We are so lucky!!! ( and grateful ) We were able to get tickets because our family had extra, and Wicked is here in DC….  I’m so excited!! we get to go with all of them, It’s going to be great!!

And life just continues to roll right along….
