I wanted to take a minute to reflect on 2011

2011 brought us so many fun adventures!

Hans did so well in all his classes for Fall and Winter semester of 2011. And he had fun with all the guys in the program!

I learned the art of Couponing :)

I turned 21!

We lived in Washington DC for the summer! This is us at the White House.

He worked for the Department of Homeland Security for his internship…. while I was a Nanny. We both learned a ton… and made money :)

Air and Space Museum in Virginia

I got my first root canal…. not really a highlight, but nonetheless a big event in my life.

We lived with and spent some good time with our family the Westergards. We love them so much!

We went and Saw Wicked in DC. AMAZING!

Visited Virginia Beach… a weekend trip. So fun!

We celebrated 2 years of marriage! Bliss!

2011 was a great year for us to say the least. We did so many fun things! I personally grew as a person.

2011 was mostly fun times!! but it also had it’s hard times.  In the year I learned and I am still learning not to stress, that Life is a journey to be enjoyed :)

SO…. here we go into 2012! This year I hope to become a better person than I was last year. I hope to learn, to grow, and to continue figuring out who I want to be. I hope that I will always count my blessings and say my prayers :)

Lemons? Maybe not!

After Hans and I had been apart for 5 days, it was so good to see each other again!

We both flew into Salt Lake. my flight got in before his so I had to wait a little while.

We spent the night at a hotel, because that is where we had parked our car. What a deal! we parked our car there for over 2 weeks, and got a hotel night all for only $70… and our flights were practically free because of a credit card Hans got… woo hoo so frugal! Oh yeah, not to mention our bags were checked free as well :) We are the perfect frugal couple, right? I know!!

It had snowed that night, and when Hans went out the next morning to get all the snow off of the car…. he found more than just snow….. There was bird poop all over our car. Yeah, don’t park under a tree for a long period of time….

This was after we had pretty much cleaned it all off, so it doesn’t look that bad…. but it was bad!

Right about the time we had started our trip home, a guy in another car started pointing to us from the other lane, so we pulled over and he showed us that our tire was low on air. Then he showed us where the nearest gas station was and we filled our tire up. What a nice guy!

As soon as we started driving again our tire pressure light went on, we pulled over again, and determined that one of our tires had a slow leak…

SO we decided to buy new tires because it was time and we needed them..…. lame. That is expensive! we only ended up getting 2 new tires, our back tires were still good. It was a blessing though! A blessing that we decided to stay in a hotel that night, that a kind person told us our tire was flat, and that we were able to get home safely!

I hate it when plans have to change. I don’t usually like “going with the flow” but I am learning!

We decided to make our day fun and we went out to lunch at Olive garden and then we went to a nickel arcade!

I thought we were going to be in the car all day, so I did NOT get ready…. sweats and pony tail baby!

It was yet another little adventure :)

A Trip to DC and Some Family Time

Aside from Christmas and New Years, Hans and I were able to spend some good time with my parents and siblings ( minus our missionary! )

We went to some movies, played a lot of games, ate good food, shopped, talked, and just had a good time.

We went to an arcade with Cam and Krista, and I won a jackpot!

Hans left for DC on the 2nd. He was going there for a Job fair, but he left a day early for some job interviews that he had in Maryland. The interviews went well, it looks like he will be getting some job offers. The Job fair went good as well, and it looks like some more interviews will come from that. We will see what happens! We hope to find a job that will work well for us, in the place we are supposed to be :)

While Hans was in DC, I was able to stay in Colorado with my family.

I did a lot of shopping with my mom! This is us fabric shopping.

I went to watch some of my brother’s basketball games. He’s #31

I saw 2 of his games, and they won both!

Being away from each other wasn’t very fun, but we both had a pretty good week!

New Years Eve

I’m a little late on the New Year and Christmas posts, but I have a good excuse, I’ve been spending good quality time with my family, and it was much needed. The break from every day life was much needed as well :)

On New Years eve we of course did our tradition of Racletting, this year we were with the Todds, the Loomis’s, and the Elders.

We also went to see a movie. Sherlock Holmes, We liked it  :)

I have been taking pictures on my phone lately, obviously not the best….

haha. I don’t think my dad knew he was in the picture :)

After the movie we played some fun group games, and did chocolate fondue. So fun!

It’s nice to have friends that are like family! Thanks to everyone who made it a great night!

Hans has been in DC this week for some job Interviews and a Job fair, we’re hoping for the best! I have been at home with my family, we start our trip back to Idaho today :)
