More Memories Made!

It has been yet another great week! I think I’m hooked on the baking thing because there have been three different kinds of treats sitting on our counter the whole week. I made peanut butter cookies, and what I think is called Congo bars, and soon I’m going to make Cinnamon rolls… YUM!

In my Psychology class this week, we got to train chickens! well, little chicks, they were cute! even though I’m not all that fond of animals. I like to watch animals, I love zoos and watching planet earth… but touching and having them close to me… yeah not going to work. haha

It was so cool to train them. Our groups chick, we named Fredrick. One of the first things we had to do was get the chick to peck the red dot to get food (grain). after that we had to get him to peck the white dot to make the red dot show, then he would peck the red dot to get food. We had to do some more things, but here is a picture of our group with Fredrick :)

wow… I look pretty short

here I am with Fredrick! He liked my ring…. I don’t blame him, I think it is pretty cute too :)

Hans and I also did some other fun things this week! We went and played tennis. luckily we have some tennis courts right across the road….. literally. It takes us about 30 seconds to walk there. So we went and played tennis! I have only played tennis I think about 1 or 2 other times in my entire life….. So it was an embarrassing experience. I was embarrassed myself… and I'm pretty sure Hans was embarrassed because I was SO bad, and we were there when they were having tennis practice right next to us, haha! Luckily, I started to get the hang of it, and I’m definitely getting better now. We left after only an hour or less, because I was tired, I’m horribly out of shape! but it was really fun to go play!

We also went to The Craze one of the nights, and played arcade games, and won some tickets. We put it on our tab… now we have almost 500 tickets stocked up there! I told Hans that we can save them up to get the lava lamp they have  because he thinks it is pretty cool. It’s 2,500 tickets or so, and we could probably buy a lava lamp for less then we spend there on tokens to play games, but it is fun and exciting to do it this way :)

On Friday night we actually went out to see a movie! We don’t usually go to movies because we have redbox codes, and get movies for free., and we have a projector. I have no problem sitting at home, junking out on food, and having a movie projected onto our wall, instead of going to a movie in the theater. I mean usually the seats feel dirty to me, there is popcorn on the floor, We can never find the best seats, and we can’t get close enough to really cuddle! BUT it is still fun to get out and go to the movies sometimes, so we did! We saw Alice in Wonderland. It was interesting…. It had great costumes, and makeup and special effects, but I thought it was a little weird. I think Hans thought so too. I know there are a lot that like it, but I think it is a one time see for me!

On Saturday I took a test, and then Hans had a volleyball game! They beat the team they played REALLY bad. it was best 3/5 and the last 2 games they beat the other team about 25 to 10, so I guess it could’ve been worse. After that we went shopping in nice sunny weather, and by the time we got back to our apartment, we look outside and it was snowing really hard! There has been some weird weather here lately.

I went to a girls night on Saturday! We went to a movie and Ice cream. We saw Letters to Juliet which was really cute!

Such fun friends to hang out with!

Poor Hans, had to spend a sad night without me. well, he wasn’t that sad.

yesterday (Sunday), nothing too exciting happened. I went and did Home Teaching  with Hans, because his companion was sick. seems weird for me to go with him, but it’s a common thing in our ward! It was fun to be able to get to know new couples though, and talk with them :)

Party Week!

This past week/weekend has been busy! Hans said that it was too busy… for him. But for me, it was ideal!….. and because I like being somewhat busy, that’s probably why our weekends/weeks turn out the way they do :) This is going to be long, by the way!

Leann’s birthday was on Wednesday, and I talked to her on Thursday, and I told her that I would plan a party for her for Friday.. .. the next day! So I invited a good amount of couples, and we were excited!

On Friday after I finished a test and did some homework, I started working on Cupcakes for Leann’s Birthday! Hans had school, then work, then school, then a volleyball game. gone the whole day! I had to also do the laundry and clean up…. so with everything that had to be done, I wasn’t able to go to his Volleyball game, it was the first one I have missed since we met :(

So we needed to go to the store to get some more snacks for the party, and get dinner (subway!). we were able to do that in about 20 minutes.. wow!…

Anyways The party was really fun, Be ready for a lot of pictures… I made sure I took a lot this weekend!

I Love!

Sadly, I don’t have any pictures to document this last week. I try really hard to always take pictures to document everything that is happening, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out! So sorry if this is boring! Well actually I think I have one picture at least.

On Friday Hans had his first volleyball game(s). It was the pre season tournament. Him and his team did really well, they are all so friendly and have so much fun together! After the Volleyball games I went to Kim’s apartment to work with her and Cynthia to plan Kim’s baby shower.. some more! We made the Invitations!

The theme is movie theater and she is about to pop like popcorn!here is what the outside looks like:

On Saturday, Hans and I both took tests in the morning, and then I went with Sarah to get pedicures! It was so fun. I had so many opportunities to take pictures… but sadly I didn’t.

After that, and a trip to the grocery store, Hans and I got ready to go to my friend Lauren’s reception. I was really exited to go. But after looking for the building for 20 minutes, I had to take Hans to his volleyball game. I came back to look for the building for another 30 minutes…. and still couldn’t find it, I even called people from around here, and used the GPS. I’m sure other people found it, but we had some issues apparently….

I went to go watch Hans play volleyball, then we came home and watched a movie.

On Sunday Hans and I took a long nap :) Then we made enchiladas. Becca (Hans’ cousin) her husband brad came over and we had dinner with them. I also made strawberry shortcake for dinner.. it was delicious :) We called our moms and talked to them for a while…. and it was a great mothers day.

Even though I’m not a mother…. and not pregnant either, Hans gave me some imaginary coupons… haha for being a wife I guess? 3 coupons for a “creative” dinner as I would say (In other words, making something different than what he usually makes… like using the cookbook). And unlimited foot rubs, I’ll be careful not to abuse that.

yesterday, we had FHE with Mike and Stacey and Sarah and Jaren. We loved it! It is so fun to get together with other couples and have FHE. We had a lesson about marriage. We all brought our wedding pictures/videos and shared them.

I wish I could re-live our wedding day. all of the waiting and planning for that one big day! To dream about it your whole life and have it go by in a blink of an eye…. it is so special and so fun… but it goes by so fast. It is fun to look back at pictures and remember, and I’m sure we will look back with fond memories for the rest of our lives :) I still want to thank everyone who made the day so perfect and special for us.

Another week, came and went

This past week has been a good one!

Hans went to volleyball tryouts, and made it on a team (of course)   :) We also watched Sherlock Holmes for the first time….. Hans loved it, I thought it was alright.

On Friday, I spent some time with Cynthia and Kim planning a baby shower for Kim! It was fun, and I have already started thinking of some fun things!

Friday night we had a ward chapel session which included dinner! So we had dinner at our church building and headed over to the temple (which is right next to our building- very convenient!) There were so many people that came, that our bishop told us that he was told that we were the first ward ever to fill up a regular session and 2 sealing sessions!

On Saturday Hans went and played Racketball with Mat and his friend, and I did some homework! later on in the day Sarah and I went to go get pedicures. When we got there we found out that we needed to make an appointment. So we made an appointment for next Saturday. here are our sad faces:

018

later that afternoon we got to know a couple in our ward better.. and we helped them move! Now they live a few doors down from us.

We also went to the craze! With Sarah and Jaren. Sarah and Jaren, being from here introduced us to the craze in the fall… or winter I can’t remember. But who knew Rexburg actually had some fun things to do?? The craze has mini golf, Lazer tag, arcade games…. and more! We had the intent this time to go play Lazer tag with a group of couples.. but that didn’t work out so we went with Sarah and Jaren and played some arcade games to win some tickets :) Hans ended up wining a JACKPOT! which was exciting for us, since most of the games don’t give you many tickets and it is one dollar for 4 tokens! But the games are so fun!

Hans and all of his (our) tickets:

022

We bought 1 little thing and started a tab there… with 300 tickets :) I think Hans wants to save up for the lava lamp that he thinks is so cool… haha.

After that we went out for some ice cream/frozen yogurt

024

Sunday was a very relaxing day… as Hans put it.  After church I made some taco soup and after we ate we crashed for about an hour. Then we watched the CES fireside, while eating some cookies.  We took a walk in the gardens (I know… classic). Hans tried to catch a rabbit….. Then we came home, talked, and had a little Family Home Evening. Now it’s time for a new week!
