Gender Reveal

Baby BOY

Baby GIRL

I’ll give you a second……

That’s right! We are having a baby BOY and a baby GIRL!! We are SO excited! Our babies looked healthy, and we loved being able to see them, their little fingers, toes, and everything else!

I started feeling them move about a week ago! at 16 weeks, crazy huh? Hans was also able to feel a little kick too, although very light. He was so excited to feel it, I loved seeing the look on his face of surprise and love :)

So, I’ve been feeling a lot more kicks on my left side, and as it turns out that’s where the little boys legs and feet are, I’m surprised at how strong his kicks are, already! He is a feisty one! It also turns out that the girls bottom is right on the boys face, I couldn’t stop laughing during the ultrasound when Hans said “ Oh look, it’s a butt face!” HAHAhaha, I Love my husband and his lightheartedness :)

As for me, I’m growing… The sickness isn’t completely gone yet, but I’ve been organizing, and doing other things, and I even made dinner 3 nights in a row which is a huge accomplishment for me, pregnant or not! haha

We are so excited to have 2 healthy babies, everyday I’m amazed at how blessed we are, this is such a miracle, and we couldn’t be happier!

Update

Well, this last week was pretty uneventful for us!

We had fun going through our Halloween costumes, trying to come up with costumes to wear to the trunk or treat!

haha I’m a cat pirate!

001

We ended up Both being pirates.

Liz and I went to our cake decorating class this weekend! We learned how to make different flowers.

010

Here is Hans’ pirate costume :)

011

I was thinking about being an Indian but I changed at the last minute to a pirate too :)

012

We went to our ward Trunk or Treat and we ended up getting second place in the Chili cook-off! Our chili was pretty good…. !

013

014

015

And here is our trunk :)

016

So, as I'm sure most have you have heard about hurricane Sandy making it’s way through here. We have tried to prepare as much as we can! It’s not so much the storm I am worried about, it’s more our power going out, everything in our apt runs on electricity and I’m just dreading having to live for who knows how long without power! It could go out at any second, it is a dreadful thing to wait for! Hans stayed home from work today and his work was cancelled for tomorrow so it is nice to have him home! The rain and wind is getting harder as time passes. We are praying for those who will be affected by the storm, especially my brother! He is on his mission in New York and they have been evacuating people there, and the subway system has been shut down, crazy!

I’m sad because we were supposed to have our 16 week ultrasound tomorrow, and hopefully find out the babies genders but we had to reschedule for next week. :(

As for the pregnancy, it’s progressing. Not much new to be said! I’m feeling more and more pregnant every day! I’m still sick, sadly, I really don’t think it is going to end, I guess I shouldn’t be so negative about it, but that’s what it feels like! I haven’t been able to feel the babies yet, but that is the next milestone we are looking forward to!

Oh yeah, and I’m pretty much huge! I think in the past couple of days I have just popped!

018

Huge! I think in part it is the dress I'm wearing ( and maybe 2 babies). Yeah, lets go with that! :)

Pizza and Pumpkins

My goal for blogging is usually to blog every week, well I’m going to keep my goal, and I hope that soon blogging starts feeling like less of a chore.

The past couple of Fridays we have gone with Liz and Dru to check out some pizza places in the area. Here we are at one of them!

My mom sent us a package this week and in it I found a few maternity clothes and some earrings from Krista, love my mom and sister! It’s always so fun to get packages :)

an update on the pregnancy.

Oh, pregnancy how much do I NOT love thee?

The sheer fact that you can create a life inside of you is a beautiful thing, and a miracle. It is wonderful.

BUT, being pregnant, not so much.

It seams like I’m to the point now where I have to try and make the guilt of not being as productive as I want go away. I’m over 14 weeks and the nausea has not gone away, in fact I feel like it is worse- including dry heaving ( sorry if that is TMI) . I have other symptoms that are not fun as well, but the nausea is the one that I feel like is taking over my life at the moment.

Hans is a great husband and he helps take care of me and the house without complaining! I just Love him :)

Here are some pictures.

This was on Monday- almost 14 weeks

017

And here is today!

054

055

My mom today said, “ Sometimes that’s how people look at 6 months pregnant!” Thanks mom :)

I feel pretty big, but when I look online I find that a baby should be the size on an orange at this point….. and I have 2 of them in there, that makes me feel just a little better :)

Here’s to another week!

General Conference!

Here is a quick update on us!

My mom sent us a package with a bunch of fun Halloween goodies in it! I was so excited! My mom is great.

004

I’m so glad Fall is finally here! One of  our favorite things about fall is making Pumpkin bread! I have already made it a couple times this season, we love it!

005

Jay playing in our living room :)

019

Hans took a picture of me at the store. I found a nearby stool and used it to reach the top shelf, how convenient!

025

We had fun this last weekend shopping, watching conference, Liz and I went to our first cake decorating class! Hans had work off on Monday, and we both loved that!

Ready for conference!

029

Our tradition of a huge breakfast on conference Sunday!

Although here it starts at 12pm!

031

And “Conference” cake of course!

035

032

A little blurry.

034

About halfway through the first session on Sunday, Jay picked up his blanket, walked into our hallway, and fell asleep right there on the floor. What a funny little guy!

036

On Monday, We both slept in, Hans went to play football with the guys, then when he got back I made us some pasta, and we sat in bed and watched Jurassic park together. It was wonderful!

038

Last Night we also went over to Liz and Dru’s. We ate dinner, Played the penny in the flour game, and frosted sugar cookies. It was fun!

043

044

045

How fun!

An update on the pregnancy! Because I know people like to hear about that stuff.

It’s going pretty well! As far as I know at least! We heard the babies Heartbeats with the Doppler for the first time which is reassuring!

I’m about 13 weeks. The “morning” sickness hasn’t completely gone away yet, but we’ll see! Smells are bad, I get tired easily, I have a metallic taste in my mouth a lot …. and a few other things, all symptoms of pregnancy from what I am told at least….

It’s hard for me to really grasp that I am pregnant since I can’t really feel them inside me…..

Hans has been really great about putting up with me, even on days that I have sat at home and done absolutely nothing because I just felt too sick and had no motivation. Even during the times I have told him to get out of bed and use some mouthwash, and then once he gets back in bed, made him change his pillow case because it smelled bad.

Then He tries really hard to be sympathetic and not laugh at me when I tell him to stop eating his chips and Salsa so loud, because I’m brushing my teeth and he is making me want some….. when he thought it was making me want to puke…. so confused. Or the couples times I have started crying over something so silly, and I see Hans running to the bathroom and throwing tissue at me… haha!

I always thought those symptoms were over-exaggerated. Turns out they don’t happen all the time, but sometimes they do, at least for me!

Here are a few pictures of me. First a picture to remind myself that this isn’t always how I looked. I have started to wonder…

Petrich (86)

Ok here is 11 weeks

003

12-13 weeks

048

from what I have read, twins make you 3-5 weeks ahead in growth. I hope that’s true, or else I would feel like I was growing too fast!

That’s it! Have a great rest of the week!
