Here we go! I haven’t written on our blog in over 2 weeks! Shame on me. I apologize, I wish I had because now I have a TON of catching up to do, SO here we go!
We left late Thursday night/ early Friday morning to start our LONG drive to Oregon. it was 12:30 AM. Which was nice because we all slept in the car while my dad drove through the night, and woke up in Ogden for breakfast. Then we finished our drive for the day and stayed in Boise for the night.
We got half price appetizers at Applebee's that night
Here we are in our traveling glory!
he next day we made our way up to my great grandpa’s cabin by Mount Raineer in Washington. The drive started getting prettier once we got into the NorthWest.
Traveling is still not fun at all.
Here are the boys helping my Grandpa get moss off the roof :)
Walking across the log and playing by the creek!
Rock throwing contest
Dinner time
Cam and Hans had a hair braiding contest. haha
Our next day at the cabin we went on a hike and had lunch at a lake nearby. Well, it was really a hike/ ATV ride which was fun, but a little scary for me too :)
Huge nasty slug!
We also took a trip to see the old car that we go to see every time we are at the cabin.
We found a snake…. and then took it on the log and pushed it into the creek. Aren’t we nice?
The day we left we went fishing in the creek for a little while. Unfortunately we weren’t prepared, because we only had one hook and it got lost on the first cast. So we fashioned a safety pin into a hook. I was able to catch a fish, get it out of the water, but it fell off the hook before we got it to the shore. So now you know! Safety pins don’t work as hooks :)
After the Cabin we made our way to Vancouver Washington (That’s where I grew up!) To spend some time with our family before we went to the beach!
We stopped at a Diner Drive-ins and Dives place somewhere along the way. The food was pretty good!
After being at my grandparents house in Vancouver for a day, we found out that we were lucky and the Blackberries had ripened early this year!
So we got up early the next morning to go pick blackberries :)
We may or may not have eaten a few along the way ;)
In our “roll out of bed glory” :)
And I also found out the blackberry pie is Hans’ favorite. Almost 3 years of marriage and I still learn new things all the time!
We went to Burgerville for lunch almost every day, yum!
We drove out to see my Grandma in Oregon and my Great grandma. Krista decided to decorate our car…
One of the days we went to help our cousin Hunter clean up the trees off of some trails for his eagle project!
That night Cameron, and our cousins Hunter, Katie and Taira all went on a group date together. Hans and I helped them plan it a bit :)
It was Cam’s and Hunter’s first date! Aren’t they so cute ? :)![]()
They made mini pizzas, went on a photo scavenger hunt in the mall, and then made mini smores. I was a little jealous I didn’t get to go on the date!
And… that is it for part one!
